About Mrs. Macia

image

Hello, my name is Melissa Macia and I am enjoying my twenty-first year of teaching young children. I have taught pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade. I have also been a reading teacher for first, second, and third grade children. These experiences have allowed me the opportunity to understand the skills the children need to build a strong foundation in both reading and math. I believe that all children can learn and I will work to provide an environment in which all children can reach their fullest potential.

At home, I am kept busy by my eleven year old daughter, Camilla and a thirteen-year-old son Nicholas. Their activities at school and in the community keep my husband Mike and I on the go. In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog, Olive, going to beach, spending time with my family, and most of all reading.

I feel fortunate to spend my days with young children. Their smiles, questions, and enthusiasm are always the bright spots in my day. I hope to instill a love of learning in one of the most formative years.
